Q- Seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave. Is that a Hadith or just a saying
This is a very inspirational and profound statement. However, have not seen it as a Hadith of Rasulullah (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam).
The Honourable Syrian Scholar of recent times, Shaykh ‘Abdul Fattah Abu Ghuddah (rahimahullah) has declared this statement a fabrication which cannot be attributed to Rasulullah (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam). (Qimatuz Zaman ‘indal ‘Ulama, pg.57-58)
Despite the above ruling, one may still take inspiration from these words of wisdom, but obviously abstain from attributing them to Rasulullah (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam).
