119. An unreliable narration on the reward for writing knowledge. അറിവ് എഴുതുന്നതിനുള്ള പ്രതിഫലത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള വിശ്വസനീയമല്ലാത്ത വിവരണം
Q-  Is this Hadith authentic? ما من مؤمن يموت ويترك ورقة من علم إلا كانت تلك الورقة سترا له من النار.  When a Believer passes away and leaves behind a paper of knowledge, that paper will serve as a barrier between him and the Fire…”

This narration has been recorded on the authority of Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik (radiyallahu ‘anhu). A similar narration has also been recorded on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) as part of longer narrations.

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “When a Believer passes away and leaves behind a paper of knowledge, that paper will serve as a barrier between him and the Fire…”

However, both these versions have been declared fabrications.

(Refer: Musnadul Firdaws, Hadith: 6062, Dhaylul La-alil Masnu’ah, vol. 1 pg. 194/195, Hadith: 225-226 and Tanzihush Shari’ah, vol. 1 pg. 280). The Hadith is not suitable to quote.

 And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
